①串聯自動包裝線。各包裝機按工藝流程單臺順序連接。各單機生產節拍相同。
① Series automatic packaging line. Each packaging machine shall be connected in sequence according to the process flow. The production beat of each single machine is the same.
②并聯自動包裝線。為了平衡生產節拍，提高生產能力，將相同包裝機分成數組，共同完成同一包裝操作。這樣的自動線稱并聯自動包裝線。這類線中需設置一些換向或合流裝置。
② Parallel automatic packaging line. In order to balance the production beat and improve the production capacity, the same packaging machines are divided into arrays to jointly complete the same packaging operation. ③混聯自動包裝線。它是在一條包裝線中同時采用串聯和并聯兩種形式。其目的是平衡各包裝機的生產節拍。該線一般較長，機器數量較多，故輸送、換向、分流、合流裝置種類多且復雜。
③ Hybrid automatic packaging line. It adopts both series and parallel forms in a packaging line. The purpose is to balance the production beat of each packaging machine. ①剛性自動包裝線。各包裝機間用輸送裝置直接連接起來，以一定的生產節拍運行。若某一臺設備發生故障停車，將引起全線停車。
① Rigid automatic packaging line. Each packaging machine is directly connected with a conveying device to run at a certain production beat. If one equipment fails to stop, it will cause the whole line to stop.
②柔性自動包裝線。這種自動線在各包裝機間均增設儲料器，由儲料器對后續包裝機供料，若某臺機器發生故障，并不影響其它機器的工作，因此生產率較高，但投資較大。
② Flexible automatic packaging line. This automatic line adds a accumulator in each packaging machine room, and the accumulator feeds the subsequent packaging machines. If one machine fails, it will not affect the work of other machines. Therefore, the productivity is high, but the investment is large.
③半柔性自動包裝線。這種自動線把全線分成若干段，對故障少者不設儲料器，使之具有“剛性”；對故障多者設置儲料器，使之具有“柔性”。既保證了高生產率，投資又不過大。
③ Semi flexible automatic packaging line. This automatic line divides the whole line into several sections, and no accumulator is set for those with few faults, making it "rigid"; The accumulator shall be set for those with many faults to make it "flexible".
