凡是品種單一能夠進行大批量生產且工藝穩定的產品，都可以通過購買自動化設備來提高生產效率，但是對于產品品種不同，小批量生產的產品來講就不能通過簡單的自動化設備進行生產了，這種情況下，就需要通過結合多種可調整的自動化設備進行組合來實現機械的自動化生產，我們稱之為柔性自動化生產線。
